NYFW: Our Favourite Collections

With New York Fashion Week drawing to a close, we look back at our favourite collections from the past nine days and show you how to replicate key outfits using The Clothes Line stock.

Taking inspiration from some of Roald Dahl’s classic stories (Fantastic Mr Fox, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory etc..) Deborah Lloyd, chief creative officer at Kate Spade, New York has kept this seasons offering “Whimsical and Fun”
Traditional Plaid jackets and skirts, pussy bow blouses, faux fur accents and crystal encrusted loafers were some of the highlights. We loved the vintage feel of a lot of the outfits and the wearability of every single piece within the show.

Our first outfit comprises of a Zara double breasted tailored linen coat (Size Small – £18) Sleeveless Zara top with leatherette collar (Size Large – £8) Vintage Gerry Weber plaid pleated skirt (Size 14 – £16.50) Faux fur collar (One size – £6) Gianni Chiarini navy leather tote bag (£150) & Salvatore Ferragamo buckle toe brown leather court shoes (Size 3 – £65)

Our second outfit comprises of a Vintage tailored wool jacket by Harvella (part of a suit – Size Medium – £25) striped box T-shirt by Weekend MaxMara (Size Medium – £15) H&M tweed cigarette pants (Size 12 – £6.50) Juicy Couture black leather shoulder bag (£50) Kokin New York wool hat with metallic embellishment (£50) Salvatore Ferragamo brown patent round toe courts (Size 3 – £65)

A permanent fixture on the New York fashion week runway shows since 2011, Victoria Beckham didn’t disappoint with her 2015 collection.

Returning to her roots she showcased dresses with plunging necklines and large statement buttons, twisted structured seams and midi length skirt hems. Beautiful outerwear that appeared to create an armour around the body and accentuate the curves underneath, all worn with chunky heeled boots.

Sculptured and body conscious it was very wearable, so a big thumbs up from us.

Our outfit comprises of a beautiful Burberry single breasted, concealed button full length wool coat (Size Medium – £100) and a pair of Mary Portas for Clarks caramel leather ankle boots (Brand new in the box – Size 5 – £40)

Thakoon Panichgul had told Vogue he was in a romantic and fantasy mood before his show last Sunday and it showed.

With his collection having a rich, earthy palette of terracotta tones with blue accents it was a relaxed vintage, bohemian style which looked warm and comfortable with beautiful creative layering techniques.

Sumptuous together but also beautiful stand out key pieces as deconstructed elements.

Our outfit comprises of a vintage Jaeger patterned open cardigan (Size Small – £15) a vintage Kilspindle of Scotland wool crew neck sweater (Size Medium – £8) MaxMara virgin wool pencil skirt (Size Large – £65) and Peter Kaiser brown leather ankle boots (Brand new in the box – Size 3 – £50)

After a fantastic, creative and inspiring New York Fashion Week we are sad to be saying goodbye but happy that just within sight is London Fashion Week.
